Lawdragon is celebrating the specialized yet versatile skills of three Hicks Thomas attorneys by selecting them for its inaugural 500 Special Situations Lawyers legal guide.
Name partner John B. Thomas and partners Courtney Ervin and Robin Harrison were named to the Special Situations list, which Lawdragon created to recognize attorneys who combine bankruptcy and restructuring with finance, liability management and capital solutions for troubled companies and contested M&A matters.
The selected lawyers, according to Lawdragon, are “masters at transporting companies facing overwhelming liability from mass tort and other claims through bankruptcy or other reconfigurations.”
Mr. Thomas, who was recognized for business disputes, oil and gas, and litigation services, has been listed in six Lawdragon 500 lists, showcasing his expertise across a wide range of cases. He has represented such high-profile clients as Zachry Group, Union Pacific Railroad, Occidental Petroleum, the King Ranch, JP Morgan Chase and Mattress Firm.
Ms. Ervin, who adds a fifth Lawdragon guide to her resume, has handled a long list of cases involving insurance matters, the energy industry, and general business litigation. She was recognized for her work in business and energy disputes and litigation.
Mr. Harrison, who has appeared in four previous Lawdragon guides, handles construction, oil and gas, banking, manufacturing, real estate and other business disputes. He was recognized on this list for accomplishments in business disputes and litigation.
Lawdragon selects its honorees through nominations, independent research and peer recommendations.
