Kiara Ventures launches US$25 million Venture Capital focused on Silicon Valley startups

The global technology ecosystem continues to concentrate around a handful of innovation hubs capable of shaping the future of entire industries. Among them, Silicon Valley remains the epicenter of startup creation, venture capital activity and technological disruption, bringing together founders, engineers, accelerators and investors within one of the most influential entrepreneurial environments in the world. Access to this ecosystem, however, has traditionally remained limited for many European investors and entrepreneurs.

Kiara Ventures has launched a new US$25 million venture capital strategy focused on investing in early-stage technology startups emerging from Silicon Valley and other leading global innovation ecosystems. The initiative aims to strengthen the connection between Europe and the Bay Area by providing direct access to highly technical founders during the earliest stages of company creation.

The firm plans to focus primarily on pre-seed and seed-stage startups operating within sectors such as artificial intelligence, software infrastructure, fintech and climate technology. According to the company, the strategy will prioritize founders connected to ecosystems including Stanford, Berkeley, Y Combinator and other leading entrepreneurial communities across Silicon Valley.

Connecting Europe with Silicon Valley’s next generation of founders

One of the central pillars behind the Spanish firm, Kiara Ventures is its direct connection with startup communities and founder networks inside Silicon Valley. The firm operates within environments linked to some of the most active early-stage ecosystems in the Bay Area, where globally recognized technology companies have historically emerged and scaled.

The project was created with the objective of building a direct bridge between Europe and Silicon Valley through an investment fund focused on early-stage technology startups. Structured around a US$25 million venture capital strategy, the fund focuses on identifying exceptional technical founders during the pre-seed and seed phases, particularly within innovation communities across the Bay Area.

“We want to back founders before the broader market recognizes their potential, supporting entrepreneurs capable of building technologies with long-term global impact,” explain the creators of Kiara Ventures.

According to the firm’s presentation, Silicon Valley currently concentrates more than 300 unicorns, over 40,000 startups and hundreds of thousands of engineers and founders, while receiving between 35% and 40% of all venture capital deployed annually in the United States.

The investment strategy is centered on building a diversified portfolio of approximately 25 to 35 startups, primarily within sectors such as artificial intelligence, fintech, SaaS and climate technology. The fund focuses on early-stage companies where proximity to founders, technical evaluation and direct ecosystem access play a decisive role.

A founder-led investment fund with international experience

Kiara Ventures has been launched by Pedro Ramón López and David Cayuela Penalva, two spanish professionals combining backgrounds in venture capital, startups, finance and international entrepreneurship ecosystems.

Pedro Ramón López brings more than fifteen years of experience in banking, finance and entrepreneurship. David Cayuela Penalva has developed his career between startups, venture capital and Silicon Valley organizations, collaborating with multiple initiatives connected to the Bay Area entrepreneurial ecosystem.

As artificial intelligence, software infrastructure and emerging technologies continue reshaping industries worldwide, the role of specialized venture capital firms connected to global innovation hubs becomes increasingly relevant. In this context, Kiara Ventures positions itself as a platform designed around international connectivity, founder access and long-term participation in the next generation of technology startups emerging from Silicon Valley.
